Academic background

Graduated at the School of Law of the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2010). Designer in Sustainability at GAIA Education – UN (2011). Member of the Environmental Council of the Federation of Industries of Rio Grande do Sul – CODEMA/FIERGS (2011-2013). Specialization in National and International Environmental Law at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2012). MBA in Sustainable Buildings, focusing on LEED Certification, at GBC – Green Building Council Brazil (2014). Member of the Latin America Climate Lawyers Initiative for Mobilizing Action – LACLIMA.

Professional Experience

Senior Attorney at Sales e Kesselring Advogados. Previously, Pedro developed his career at major law firms, having over 12 years of experience in environmental law, mainly focused on climate change law and sustainability. Throughout his career, Pedro has assisted companies and associations in many different markets.

His experience includes assessment of environmental aspects in different forms of deals, such as mergers & acquisitions and capital market transactions, legal consultancy for negotiation and implementation of environmental recovery plans and in environmental licensing processes. Assessment on environmental class actions and extrajudicial litigation. Legal consultancy (environmental and contractual) in projects involving environmental and forestry assets, climate change, biodiversity protection and management of contaminated areas. Good knowledge on the Third Sector matters, mainly focused on corporate social responsibility and respective regulatory standards for non-profit organizations.

Winner of the José Bonifácio de Andrada e Silva Award, in the specialization category, at the International Congress on Environmental Law of the O Direito por um Planeta Verde Institute (2010).

Speaker and author of articles in relevant magazines and books specialized in the environmental law.
