In the legal risks management and compliance area, we are engaged in the prevention,solution or settlement of environmental disputes in the various market segments.

At the prevention level, we are engaged in the licensing and environmental impact studies, implantation of environmental management programs and activities, environmental audits of legal conformity and certification of the quality of management systems (ISO 14.000 and others), waste management (including reverse logistics programs), as well as the development of legal compliance management systems,  integrated with the sustainability and social responsibility practice of companies.

In the regularization of activities and dispute resolution, we represent our clients in the resolution of environmental cases before governmental authorities and other interested third parties, including the drafting and execution of communication strategies and negotiated settlement of environmental contingencies (including Consent Agreements in Civil Investigations conducted by the District Attorney and before other environmental control agencies and regularization of rural properties and recovery of degraded sites) and representation in fine assessments and other types of administrative proceedings, lawsuits (including Civil Law Class Actions and other types of collective and private lawsuits) and mediation and arbitration proceedings. Our services also include the management of investigations and criminal lawsuits involving environmental issues, under partnership arrangements with criminal law lawyers.

We are also engaged in the management of social-environmental crisis under co-operation with professional experts in the environmental and health & safety areas, strategic management, institutional and communication liaison, among others.

In the commercial transaction s area, we are engaged in cooperation with strategic partners in all stages of commercial operations, such as mergers & acquisitions, issuances of securities in Brazil and abroad (IPOs, debentures, bonds),  privatizations, public bids, public utility concessions and public/private partnerships (PPPs), project finance, investment fund operations (Investment Fund in Participations, Securities Investment Funds, Venture Capital) and other types of structured investment in Brazil operations and of investments of Brazilian companies abroad, focusing on the identification, contingency and incorporation of sustainability and social-environmental governance aspects. Our assistance in transnational projects includes the analysis and legal risks management from the strategic planning and identification of scenarios up to the stages of structuring and implantation of the investment, due diligence of companies and investments portfolio, drafting or review of reference sheets, negotiation and drafting of contractual instruments attributing responsibilities, implantation of post closing steps, in addition to support to de-commissioning of operations or implantation of investments exit or realization strategies.
